5 Authentic Ways To Be Happier

5 Authentic Ways To Be HappierHow are you feeling today? Are you happy sad, mad, or just ok? Many people answer this question by saying they are ok or good.

How often do you actually hear a person saying that they are happy when you are asking how they are doing?

In this post, we will talk about a few ways to show you how you can become happier with your daily life – so you can answer this question with a different answer for once.

This article has proven information that can make you a happier person.

Helping Others And Giving Back – This could mean doing a variety of things, more than going and volunteering at a soup kitchen or Good Will store. You could participate in a charity run, bike ride or walk, give a check to a good cause, or help a neighbor in need. Acts of generosity release dopamine and serotonin and it will make you feel amazing.

Meditation – It lets you take some me time and center yourself. You can relax and basically do nothing; there is plenty of information on the web on how to meditate if you are looking for it.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others – Everything in life does not have to be a competition.  You should want to have success in life obviously.

But don’t stress out if your best friend gets a promotion at a job she has been working at for less time as you, or if your parents constantly bring up your superstar brother who consistently saves the planet. Make achievable goals for yourself and do your best to reach them.

Be Optimistic – Think glass half full, instead of glass half empty. If you have problems in life, deal with them accordingly. Don’t walk through dreading every day and letting everything get under your skin.

Know that you will make it through and life will get better.

Find Meaning In Your Work – No matter what your occupation is, you want to have a reason to wake up and go to work each morning.

If you work in a restaurant as a server – know that you can fill people’s bellies and give them a good time when they come in.

If you work in marketing – know that you are helping businesses succeed if you sell insurance – you are letting others sleep soundly because their valuables are protected.

All of the tips above may not work for you. But if just one does, then follow the lead to a better and happier life.

At Wholly Ignited, we want to help you become happier in your life, whether that is with our life coaching or biblical counseling. Our unique approach and services will help you be excited about life again, contact us at 949.831.1816 today!

Ways To De-Stress While At Work

De-Stress While At WorkWhat is one of the top reasons why people leave their jobs? Stress.

You may have landed the career of your dreams, with a great paycheck to boot, but if you are so stressed out to the point where you get migraines just thinking about work you may want to just throw in the towel.

But what if there were a different option than quitting? Have you ever tried to de-stress yourself while you are at work?

If lightening your workload is not an option and there are not any openings at other companies that will offer what you are paid, you may feel stuck in your current position.

The answer could be fairly simple for how to give yourself a breather and walk away for a few minutes.

A growing company, Salesforce, recently had Buddhist monks from France’s Plum Village come in and give a speech on Mindfulness.

“They came to me and said, ‘There’s constant activity at Salesforce. You should take one of your entire floors and make it a silent floor,’” founder and CEO Marc Benioff said in an interview with The Huffington Post.

“I said, ‘That’d be great unless you work on that floor.’”

Instead, “as we build facilities around the world, we’re now going to have a mindfulness section on each floor,” he said.

This space will not be for employees to make phone calls or take meetings, but rather to fully step away from the intensity of work. When someone enters one of the rooms, he or she will have to do so without bringing along any gadgets like a cell phone or computer.

We would imagine, without taking a tour of your company, that there is probably zero space to de-stress yourself while you are at work. Your de-stressing zone is probably in your car as you drive home in rush hour traffic where all you do is think about problems that you are having.

Our advice, after hearing about what is happening at Salesforce, find a space at your workplace that you can breathe for five minutes, without a cell phone or computer.

If you can find a way to de-stress just a few minutes a day, your job will seem much better and not as stressful.

Wholly Ignited offers effective, compassionate, biblical and faith counseling in a safe and peaceful environment, as we know that life’s greatest difficulties are not necessarily resolved in a simple way.

Overcoming Struggles To Lend A Hand To Others

Regardless of where you are currently in your life, there are going to be people around you who are struggling with their own demons, temptations, and tragedies. These negative situations have a way of getting into our own soul and dredge up memories that we’ve worked to overcome.

Through God’s work, we are reminded of how doing right for others is good for ourselves.

Overcoming Struggles To Lend A Hand To OthersIt is easy to care for those around us, especially those we love and are closest to, but it is not easy to remove ourselves deeply from their troubles.

For example, an abused child trying to cope with an unfortunate and unfair situation can bring back personal painful childhood memories.

Or, you might have a co-worker who is being terminated from a job, who brings you back to personal sadness from past financial struggles.

As you comfort a widow mourning the loss of her husband, you too may dwell on those who have passed in your own life.

It might be difficult for you to erase those memories from your mind so that you can focus forward and strive to help those in need.  It is easy to become overwhelmed by the tragic events and brokenness around you, specifically with those who seek comfort from you.

These types of struggles are more common that thought of and while we don’t want to ignore the needs of others, it is important to understand that God has not forgotten our hard times and that He cares and offers redemption in his gospels.

Here are some verses that can help guide you through perseverance so you can offer your comfort to others:

2 Thessalonians 3:13

“But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary of doing good.”

Galatians 6:9

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time, we will reap if we do not grow weary.”

Wholly Ignited provides Christian life and biblical counseling services. We work with you to guide you through the difficult parts of life so that you may move forward, growing stronger with the ability to continue to do good for others. Contact us at 949.831.1816 for more information today!

The Effects Of Meditation On The Body And Brain

Effects Of Meditation On The Body And BrainMeditation has become increasingly popular as the years have gone by. When you used to think of meditation, the picture of Monks would arise in your head.

Now there are a lot more than Monks meditating on a regular basis.

Gathering your thoughts, meditating and relaxing can be done in a variety of different ways from certain exercises to sitting Indian style in a quiet room.

No matter how you decide to meditate, there are positive effects on your body and brain.

What are some of the positive effects of meditation?

Reduced stress is an effect that a lot of people find almost instantly after their first meditation session. If you have less stress in your life, that can also lead to a healthier lifestyle as well as less chance that you will get sick.

Your brain can almost become re-wired as you intake so many positive vibes from regular meditations, and your outlook on life will be significantly improved.

One example of this is the well-known London cab driver studies which showed that the longer someone had been driving a taxi, the larger their hippocampus, a part of the brain involved in visual-spatial memory.

Their brains literally expanded to accommodate the cognitive demands of navigating London’s tangle of streets.

Research has also proved the numerous benefits of meditation for your brain and shown that meditation produces measurable results, from changes in gray matter volume to reduced activity in the “me” centers of the brain to enhanced connectivity between brain regions.

Here are some verses that illustrate the concept. Also, when meditating, focus on God and His promises (peace, provision, healing, always present and available, unconditional love, mercy and grace):

Joshua 1:8

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Psalm 1:2

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Psalm 48:9

Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.

Psalm 119:27

Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.

Psalm 119:148

My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises.

The concept of meditation is that it gets our minds off our problems and on God who remains faithful through it all.

Psalm 145:5

They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

If you are looking to live a healthier lifestyle in mind and in spirit, a few minutes of meditating may just do the trick for you.

The benefits of living a better lifestyle of mind health and body health outweigh any cons of meditating, and there really are no cons when it comes to meditation.

At Wholly Ignited, we take a different approach to counseling, as opposed to a passive, clinical approach.

With a peaceful, safe and comfortable environment provides you the opportunity to develop a relationship of trust with your counselor. Find out more about our life coaching and biblical counseling by contacting us at 949.831.1816 today!

5 Characteristics Of Bad Communication

Bad CommunicationAre you in a relationship where things seem to be going downhill fast?

A lot of times once that ball starts rolling down the hill, it is almost impossible to stop.

Where do the problems in relationships stem from?

The number one answer is communication.

Bad communication has many characteristics, as we identify them, think about your relationships and if there are any of these signs present.

Blame – do you ever play the blame game with your significant other. Do you see your partner as the one that all of the problems come from or vice versa?

Passive Aggressiveness – Are you or your partner silent when it comes to arguments. Does either of you slam doors at home during arguments or storm out of the room?

Defensiveness – when a problem does arise, do you or your partner refuse to take accountability for the problem? No one is perfect in this world, but someone in the relationship cannot admit to this.

Hopelessness – in your relationship, do you ever feel like just giving up? To the point where you feel it is no longer worth trying to be together if this is how every day is going to be?

Diversion – instead of talking out the issue at hand, do you or your significant other continue to dig up the past? If you are arguing over old arguments, this would define your relationship.

There are so many factors that can define characteristics of bad communication in a relationship.

If you identified with any of these characteristics it may not be too late for your relationship.

Call Wholly Ignited at 949.831.1816 today, and we can guide you both into a healthier relationship and get you back to a point of having good communication.

Finding Spiritual Growth With The Help Of A Certified Life Coach

Finding Spiritual Growth With Certified Life CoachWe have a question for you to think about. Do you feel like you are connected to God? If so, are you growing in your spirituality?

Being aligned with God allows a person to grow and we encourage everyone we meet with to be in a place in which you can allow God to let you grow spiritually.

If you need help getting into a place to be connected – that is where a certified life coach can help you.

One passage from the Bible that we feel exemplifies the meaning of spiritual growth comes from Peter 3:17-18 Amplified Bible (AMP):

Therefore, [let me warn you] beloved, knowing these things beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men [who distort doctrine] and fall from your own steadfastness [of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith], but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

Does that passage mean anything when you read it over to yourself?

According to Jürg Rohrer at Time For Change, “To integrate spirituality in the daily life is somehow similar to wearing clothing: You most likely wear clothes and make sure you are adequately dressed all day round and not just on some rare occasions. You don’t walk around naked.”

A life coach can help you understand these passages in more detail and see how they can specifically apply to your life and what your overall mission in life is, and assist when you need help getting through a rough transition of any sort.

Spiritual growth with Wholly Ignited can be a great guide and assistance in your life.

As a certified life coach with various specializations, we can give you a free 30-minute session to give you a glimpse into spiritual growth and how we can help understand your life better.

If you are ready to begin finding out how a life coach can help your spiritually grow, you can contact us today at 949-831-1816.

Why Retirement Is Good For You

Retirement Is GoodAre you getting to the phase in life where retirement is just around the corner? It can be quite a change, a nice one at that, to retire from your job that you have spent the last 30+ years at.

Whether retirement to you means looking after the grandkids, or looking at the waves on the ocean, you should know that retirement is good for you.

Why, may you ask, is retirement good for you?

Dr. Melody Ding, Senior Research Fellow at the University’s School of Public Health says, “A major life change like retirement creates a great window of opportunity to make positive lifestyle changes – it’s a chance to get rid of bad routines and engineer new, healthier behaviors.”

The Data Revealed That Retirees:

  • Increased physical activity by 93 minutes a week
  • Decreased sedentary time by 67 minutes per day
  • Increased sleep by 11 minutes per day
  • 50 per cent of female smokers stopped smoking

All of the above is mainly possible because you have more time to yourself to do things that you want to do.

Once life is not so complicated by a full-time job, late nights at the office or meetings to prep for over the weekend there is more time available to concentrate on you and your health.

How do you have a healthy retirement? It is pretty easy in fact; just make good choices for yourself.

Keep active and exercise daily, get 8 hours of sleep each night, eat fruits and vegetables and spend time with your loved ones or reconnect with people you may have fallen out of touch from in the past.

If you are at all nervous about this huge change in your life, and if you’d like to have professional life coaching to help you through this transition, please contact us at Wholly Ignited.

We can help coach you through this new stage and make sure your retirement is wonderful for you.

Learn How To Integrate Sound Biblical Principles Into Your Daily Life

Living biblically and spiritually is not a hard way to live.

It might be a semi-difficult transition to make if you are not used to living this way, but with the right biblical counseling and coaching, you can be living your daily life with sound biblical principles in no time.

You should not live spirituality like an after school activity only on evenings, or for an hour on the weekend or for two weeks a month.

Spirituality should always be integrated into our daily life, and in all our decisions both in the home and work life.

With the right biblical counseling and coaching, you can learn how to incorporate sound biblical principles and build a partnership with God, so that you can achieve your goals and enjoy healthy relationships. If you change the way you think, with the help of a coach, you can easily live a happier and more meaningful life.

Some of our favorite biblical principles that are easy to understand and you can begin incorporating into your life even before we get started are: Sound Biblical Principles

Proverbs 2:6

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.”

1 Corinthians 10:31

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Proverbs 18:13

“He who gives an answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him.”

Proverbs 14:1

“The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.”

If you live in Orange County, California, Wholly Ignited can work with you on faith and biblical coaching.

The difference is how we at Wholly Ignited teach you. As compared to lessons that may have been preached on Sundays, our approach is not passive at all.

Sometimes going to your own church could be uncomfortable or intimidating. We want to be someone that you trust and you feel safe with in order to make this change.

We will entrench you with the thoughts of biblical principles within a comfortable environment. For more information about Biblical Counseling or any of the services we offer, contact us at 949.831.1816 today!

Find A Wedding Officiant That Is Committed To Making Your Day Special

Find A Wedding OfficiantYour wedding day is the one day that is all about you and your love for one another as a couple.

The days, weeks and months leading up to that day can be more stressful than anything you have ever faced. We are sure that as you are reading this you can completely agree with that statement.

Organizing vendors, deciding what food to eat and the dreaded seating chart can some days be too much to handle.

This is where a reliable minister comes in as your wedding officiant. Having one less thing to stress over and be completely confident is one thing that we can promise.

Whether you would like to have your wedding by the beach, shaded by palm trees, or in your backyard – a wedding officiant should be completely present.

There is nothing worse than having a question mark next to a vendor and not feeling completely confident in them as you write out a check.

Many times vendors can get overbooked during the peak of wedding season, and they may not have a chance to return phone calls in a timely fashion.

Or you may read horror stories about vendors that were double booked at two weddings and could only attend one event, leaving another bride and groom to find a replacement with no warning at all.

Once we begin speaking, I will be able to tell you if I can attend your event and you can remain confident that I will be there and one hundred percent committed.

As a professional wedding officiant, Wholly Ignited will offer you pre-marital education and post-marital as well if you do so choose.

With this counseling, you will develop the tools to have your marriage last a lifetime.

If you are interested in having a wedding officiant that is committed to you as a couple and to your wedding day in the Orange County area, contact us at 949.831.1816 today.

Mack Harris at Wholly Ignited will do all that he can to make sure that your ceremony is one to remember for all the right reasons.

Receive Professional Marriage Counseling To Bring Out The Best In Each Other

Professional Marriage CounselingFact: In the United States between 40% and 50% of marriages end in divorce.

But why? Why is that number so high? There are so many factors that can affect why a marriage doesn’t last.

If your marriage is going down a path that does not have a bright light at the end of the tunnel, ask yourself if you think that professional marriage counseling could be the solution that you are looking for.

Some people may think that their marriage has already failed if they need to go to counseling, which is not the case at all. No one is perfect, no matter what they think.

No marriage is perfect; there are always bumps in the road. Losing a job, making a move, dealing with children or infertility are a few examples of things that can put so much stress on a marriage.

Going through a counseling program will help you identify how you can move through these bumps.

Through counseling, you can get a better understanding of what you need from your spouse and what they need from you in order to get through.

If you are not having issues outside of your marriage but want to feel more connected as a couple, a marriage conference or counseling can help with this too. You can rediscover exactly why you fell in love and become irresistible to each other once again. Bringing out the best in your significant other is why you got on this path in the first place.

You get married because you cannot picture yourself with someone else and that other person makes you want to be better.

At Wholly Ignited, we offer a marriage conference to help out marriages, like the one that you are in right now move to a better path.

By evaluating the current state that your marriage is in, you can realize that the next best step is to receive counseling.
